General Description of the Feature

This feature includes two enhancements related with the users that are working on leads/opportunities.

Access limit

With the enablement of this feature, user access and workflow related work within leads/opportunities is restricted to only the ones that they are assigned to. If a user tries to access a lead that belongs to another user, he/she is able to check all the tabs of the lead except the "Activity" tab of the lead process page, which is restricting the user from taking any workflow action.

With the addition of the Business Case 12307, user can have the permission to "Assign to Self" (reassign the relevant lead to the current logged in user) and this way take it from the previous assignee.

The behavior of the Assign to se­­­lf button was updated as follows:

  1. If sales process is not started the Assign to Self button will be visible to all users.
  2. If sales process has started then the following check is taking place:
    1. If the setup key ‘SalesStrictTransitioning’ is false (legacy functionality active) OR the setup key ‘SalesStrictTransitioning’ is true and the process is assigned to the current user, then he/she will see the activities page.
    2. Else if the current user has access by business case 12307 then he will see the Assign to Self button, otherwise the page will be opened with read-only view.

Agenda Monitoring

All the Agenda views for all the modules has been enhanced. Each closed activity (triggered by transition) it includes one new line called "User". This is the name of the User that moved on in the workflow by making a transition and closed the already scheduled activity.

So, in the cases, where the lead change a couple of assignees and each one of them take some workflow actions, the agenda will include all the information of which user took which action.

Business Benefit

This functionality restricts the lead/opportunity workflow process in way that only the actual assignee of the entity can move one with the workflow. This gives more control to the sales person and gives the possibility to record any changes made from other users in the relevant leads.
