The user can create a sales Lead for a Walk-in Customer.

To create the Lead the user selects the + button in the header page of the home dashboard. The first step is to select the contact person from the drop down list of contact persons.

If the contact person does not exist, then the user creates a new Private BP, or a new Company BP with a main contact person. During the creation the duplication check is triggered.

The next step after selecting the Contact Person, is to select the Make from the list of available Makes.

The Make is the first level of the model tree stored in DSW. Each Make is linked to one or many Interest Types.

For example for the Make BMW, the system could support the following interest types:

if the interest type Vend Configurator is selected then the VOI (Vehicle of Interest) will be selected from a configured car using the Configurator. If the interest type Inventory is selected, then the VOI will be selected from the vehicles' stock.

The most frequently used interest types that can be related to the available Makes are the following:

  • Inventory : to select a vehicle of interest from Inventory
  • VendConfigurator: to select and configure a vehicle from Configurator (Light or Advanced)
  • CD Configurator: to select and configure a vehicle from the thrird party configurator CD
  • GME Configurator: to select and configure a vehicle from the GME Configurator
  • Used: to select any vehicle with vehicle type Used Vehicle w/o pre-selecting the Make
  • External Configurator: to select and configure a vehicle from an External Configurator
  • Unknown: for any VOI (vehicle of interest) only with known Make

The process of creating a lead from different Interest Types, is exactly the same when the sales process starts from an Inquiry created in DSW from any external source or created internally.
