General Description of the Feature
With the Configurator, users can select available vehicle families from the installed brands and add or remove options for each vehicle. This enables users to personalize various elements and components of the car. The Configurator obtains data from OD DSW via an import process of the model tree. The user can create an Excel file containing all model codes, options/packages, relationships, prices, makes, families, groups, and categories.
Key components
Here's an overview of the key components and their functions:
•Intermediate Database: The intermediate database serves as a temporary storage for data coming from DSW
•Import Process: The import process is responsible for posting data from OD to IDB ( vehicles, features, options, and other relevant details.
•Sync Process: The sync is responsible for transferring the values from the IDB->Configurator DB
Import Process
The OD team imports the Excel file into their system, populating the IDB with values. Upon completion, an email is sent to the DSW user, initiating the sync process on Vendallion. This process updates materialized products to reflect new values for vehicles.
Scheduling
A scheduling mechanism ensures that sync and Elastic processes, as well as image updates, this can run during non-working hours, typically nightly, to avoid errors and disruptions.
