Trade In vehicle management

Adding a Trade In vehicle

To add a Trade In vehicle, click on the "Actions" button and then go to "Trade In" → "Add TradeIn Vehicle"

The user can add all the necessary details and click on "Save"

Upon creation of the Trade In vehicle, a new Purchase Lead is created in the background with the following values provided from setup keys:

  • Source (PurchaseLeadFromTradeIn_Source)
  • Channel (PurchaseLeadFromTradeIn_Channel)
  • Assigned user (GL_PurchaseManagerUserLoginID)

The above keys are defined via the setup page (Setup Keys)

Also, a notification is sent at the Purchase Lead handler

The user can view the newly created Purchase Lead at the related tab of the Sales Lead/Opportunity. From there, the user can navigate to the Purchase Lead through a hyperlink.

Some of the details that were entered during the creation of the Trade In vehicle are transferred to the Purchase Lead

Updating a Trade In vehicle

To update a Trade In vehicle, click on the "Actions" button and then go to "Trade In" → "Update TradeIn Vehicle"

The same popup, as in the creation of the Trade In vehicle, opens for the user to make any desired changes. After saving, some fields of the Trade In vehicle that match with the Purchase Lead's are updated there as well.

Deleting a Trade In vehicle

When deleting a Trade In vehicle, because there is a 2-way relationship between the Sales Lead/Opportunity and the Purchase Lead, apart from the Trade In vehicle record the relation from the Sales Lead to the Purchase Lead only is also deleted.


Override from Purchase Lead

The user can update the Trade In vehicle's details from the related Purchase Lead that was created previously. Again, some of the fields that match between the 2 entities are updated but only if the Trade In vehicle record has no value at the matched field. Only the "Standard Price" and "Final Price" are always updated.

Purchase Lead management

From the Purchase Lead's point of view, all the details from the Trade In vehicle can be seen in the "Vehicle" tab and at the "Related" tab the user can see the linked Sales Lead/Opportunity.

Completion of Technical Evaluation step

According to the workflow that is used, at the completion of the "Techinal Evaluation done" transition, a notification is sent at the Sales Person that is handling the Sales Lead/Opportunity.
